The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvardsverket) and the Swedish Board of Fisheries (Fiskeriverket) are calling for a ban on sales and fishing of Signal crayfish in the northern counties of Jamtland, Vasternorrland, Vasterbotten, and Norrbotten. The organisations hope a ban would slow the spread of crayfish parasitic mould to river crayfish.
